The short version. These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Bibi Khadijah Al Kubra Foundation, a non-profit trust that owns and runs KSIJ Connect and KSIJ Careers. The rest of this document is binding; this box is only a summary. The Services are free and are for adult members of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri community worldwide. You own what you post. We never sell your data, never show advertising, and never let anyone else train AI on your data. Treat every member with adab, keep conversations respectful, and never ask anyone for money. If something goes wrong, tell our Grievance Officer and we will act quickly.

Part A: General Terms

1. About these Terms

1.1

Who we are. KSIJ Connect and KSIJ Careers (together, the "Services") are owned and operated by Bibi Khadijah Al Kubra Foundation, a non-profit public charitable trust registered in India under the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Registration No. E-34286 (M)), with its registered office at 124, 42, Manju Tower CHS Ltd, J.P. Road, Nr. High Point Hotel, Andheri-W, Mumbai - 400 058, India ("we", "us", "our" or the "Trust"). The Trust offers the Services free of charge as part of its charitable objects.

1.2

This is a contract. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Services. These Terms form an electronic contract under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and do not require a physical or digital signature.

1.3

Documents that form part of these Terms. The following are part of your agreement with us:

  • our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data;
  • the Community Guidelines in Schedule 1;
  • the KSIJ Careers Supplemental Terms in Part B, if you use KSIJ Careers;
  • the Additional Terms for Your Region in Part C, if you live in a country or region listed there;
  • any additional terms we show you for a specific feature before you use it.
1.4

Order of precedence. If there is a conflict, the following order applies, highest first: (a) any mandatory provision of applicable law; (b) Part C, for users in the region concerned; (c) the Privacy Policy, for anything about personal data; (d) Part B, for anything about KSIJ Careers; (e) these General Terms; (f) the Community Guidelines.

1.5

Availability. The Services are available in the countries where our apps are offered and on our website. We will add countries over time.

1.6

Language. These Terms are written in English. We may provide translations in Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu or other languages on request or on our website. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version applies, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.

1.7

Who builds and supports the Services. The Services are developed and maintained for the Trust by the Developer under a written development and data processing agreement. The Developer acts only on the Trust's instructions, may not use Members' personal data for its own purposes, and all rights in the Services remain with the Trust.

1.8

The World Federation. The World Federation supports the Services as a facilitator and endorser. It does not own or operate the Services and has no access to Members' personal data. Clause 24 explains this further.

2. Definitions

In these Terms:

  • "Account" means your registered account on the Services.
  • "AI Features" means features that use machine learning or artificial intelligence, including CV review.
  • "Community Guidelines" means the rules in Schedule 1, which are also published separately.
  • "Content" means anything you or another user posts, uploads, sends or otherwise makes available through the Services, including profile information, photographs, posts, comments, messages, endorsements, appreciations, opportunities, CVs and applications.
  • "Developer" means Bibi Khadijah Al Kubra Foundation (in-house development team), which develops and maintains the Services for the Trust under clause 1.7.
  • "Employer" means an organisation or authorised individual that posts jobs or reviews candidates on KSIJ Careers.
  • "Jamaat" means a Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat or community body.
  • "Member" means an individual who holds an Account.
  • "Mentor" and "Mentee" mean Members who offer or request guidance through the Mentorship Circle.
  • "World Federation" means The World Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities.

3. Who can use the Services

3.1

Eligibility. You may create an Account only if all of the following are true:

  • you are at least 18 years old;
  • you are a member of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri community, and you confirm this when you sign up;
  • you are legally able to enter into a binding contract in your country of residence;
  • you have not previously been banned from the Services, unless we have given you written permission to return;
  • you are not prohibited from receiving the Services under any law that applies to you or to us, including sanctions laws.
3.2

No accounts for minors. The Services are not designed for, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If we learn that an Account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated data as described in the Privacy Policy. Parents or guardians who believe a child has created an Account should contact us at admin@ksijyouth.com.

3.3

One person, one Account. You may hold only one personal Account. Your Account is for you alone. You may not create an Account for another person, share your Account, or create an Account in a false name.

3.4

Organisations. Organisations may use KSIJ Careers only through an authorised representative and only under Part B. Organisations may not create personal Accounts on KSIJ Connect.

3.5

Our right to decline. Because the Services are a private platform for our community, we may decline to open an Account, or may limit access, where we reasonably believe the eligibility requirements are not met, or where it is necessary to protect Members or comply with law. Where we decline, we will tell you, and you may ask us to reconsider under clause 17.

4. Joining and account status

4.1

Signing up. You may sign up using the methods we offer from time to time, which currently include signing in with a Google account and, on iOS where available, signing in with Apple. Signing in with One ID, the World Federation's identity service, is planned and will be offered when available; separate notices will apply to it.

4.2

Confirming you belong to the community. When you sign up, you confirm that you are a member of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri community and that the details you give are true. We do not ask Jamaats to verify your membership. We may review new Accounts before they become visible to other Members, and may ask for more information or for a reference from an existing Member.

4.3

What having an Account does and does not mean. Having an Account does not mean that we or any Jamaat:

  • have checked your identity documents, qualifications, employment, experience or character;
  • vouch for anything you say on your profile; or
  • guarantee your conduct toward other Members.

Every Member must use their own judgement before relying on another Member's profile, advice or offer.

4.4

Accounts we decline or close. If we decline or close an Account because we believe the eligibility requirements are not met, we will tell you, and you may ask for reconsideration under clause 17. You may also ask us to delete the data you provided, and we will do so as described in the Privacy Policy.

4.5

False information. We may restrict or close an Account if we reasonably believe it was opened using false information, including about a person's identity or membership of the community.

5. Your Account and its security

5.1

You must give accurate, current and complete information when you register and keep it up to date.

5.2

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity on your Account, except activity caused by our own failure to take reasonable security measures.

5.3

You must tell us immediately at admin@ksijyouth.com if you believe your Account has been accessed without your permission. We may temporarily restrict an Account that shows signs of compromise to protect you and other Members.

5.4

We will never ask for your one-time codes or sign-in details by email, phone, WhatsApp or message. Anyone who does is not acting for us.

5.5

We may require additional security steps, such as re-authentication or a second factor, for sensitive actions.

6. Your privacy and visibility choices

6.1

Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and your rights. Please read it; it forms part of these Terms.

6.2

You choose who can find you. You control your visibility settings, including whether you are discoverable, which details are shown, whether your employer is displayed, and whether you are discoverable only to Members of the same gender. Before you are discoverable at all, you must make your visibility choices.

6.3

What we cannot control. Anything you show to other Members can be seen, remembered, copied or screenshotted by them. We prohibit copying and misuse (clause 9), but we cannot guarantee that other people will respect those rules. Only share what you are comfortable sharing with the audience you have chosen.

6.4

Sensitive information. Please do not post information about your health, finances, government identity numbers, or the private details of other people, including children. The Services are not designed to hold that kind of information.

7. Community etiquette features

7.1

Why these features exist. The Services include features designed to reflect the etiquette (adab) of our community, including how introductions between men and women take place. These features are part of the Services and you agree not to try to get around them.

7.2

Message requests. Where the Services require a message request before a conversation can begin, the recipient decides whether to accept. Until a request is accepted, the sender cannot send further messages. Introductory messages are limited in length and must state a genuine reason for contact.

7.3

Declined and unanswered requests. A recipient may decline a request or leave it unanswered, and does not need to give a reason. We do not tell the sender that a request has been declined. Requests that are not accepted will expire and be removed after 30 days, as described in the Privacy Policy. A request that is not accepted must not be repeated through other channels.

7.4

Same-gender discovery. If a Member chooses to be discoverable only to Members of the same gender, the Services apply that choice in both directions across search, directory, suggestions and mentor lists.

7.5

No guarantee. These features reduce risk; they do not remove it. They rely on the gender and other information Members give us, and they do not control what happens outside the Services. You remain responsible for your own conduct and judgement.

7.6

Not a matrimonial service. The Services are a professional and community network. They are not a matrimonial, matchmaking or dating service. Using the Services to seek or propose marriage, or to pursue romantic contact, is not permitted unless the other person has clearly invited it, and even then must follow the Community Guidelines.

8. Your Content

8.1

You own your Content. As between you and us, you keep all ownership rights in the Content you provide.

8.2

The permission you give us. So that we can run the Services, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, translate for display, and display your Content, and to show it to the Members and audiences you have chosen, solely for the purpose of operating, securing, improving and providing the Services. We may allow our service providers to exercise this licence only to help us provide the Services.

8.3

What we will not do with your Content. Unlike many social platforms, we will not:

  • sell your Content or your personal data;
  • use your Content or personal data to show advertising, or allow advertisers to target you;
  • give your Content or personal data to the World Federation, any Jamaat or the Developer for their own use;
  • allow any third party to use your Content or personal data to train artificial intelligence models; or
  • use your name, photograph or Content in our promotional material without asking you first.
8.4

When the licence ends. The licence in clause 8.2 ends when you delete the relevant Content or your Account, except that: (a) Content you shared with others, such as messages, comments on other people's posts, or endorsements you gave, may remain visible to them in a form that no longer links to your profile, as described in the Privacy Policy; (b) copies in backups will be deleted in the normal backup cycle; and (c) we may keep Content for longer where the law requires it, including for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy.

8.5

Your promises about your Content. You confirm that you have the rights needed to share your Content, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that it does not breach these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or anyone else's rights, including rights of privacy, confidentiality and intellectual property.

8.6

Other people's information. If you share information about someone else, such as in an endorsement, a post or a reference, you must have a lawful basis for doing so and must not share their private or sensitive information.

8.7

Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions about the Services, we may use them without any obligation to you. This does not give us any rights in your other Content.

8.8

We may remove Content. We may remove, restrict or limit the visibility of Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms, the Community Guidelines or the law, or that we are required to remove by a court or government order. Clause 17 explains how we notify you and how you can ask us to reconsider.

9. Rules of conduct

9.1

What you must do. You agree to:

  • follow the law of India and of the country where you live or use the Services. Some countries have stricter laws on speech, religion, defamation or online conduct than these Terms; you are responsible for complying with them;
  • give accurate information about yourself, including your name, Jamaat, gender, profession and experience;
  • use your real identity, with a profile photograph (if you add one) that shows you and is in keeping with the Community Guidelines;
  • respect the choices of other Members, including their visibility settings and their decision not to reply;
  • treat every Member with courtesy, honesty and adab.
9.2

Prohibited content. You must not host, display, upload, publish, transmit, store, update or share any information that:

  • belongs to another person and to which you have no right;
  • is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, or invasive of another person's privacy, including bodily privacy;
  • insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender, or is racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable in a way that is unlawful;
  • relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling, or promotes online games that are not permitted by law;
  • promotes enmity between groups on grounds of religion, sect, caste, race, language or place of origin, or deliberately outrages the religious feelings of any group;
  • is harmful to children in any way;
  • infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
  • deceives or misleads anyone about the origin of a message, or knowingly communicates information that is false, untrue or misleading;
  • impersonates another person, including a scholar, Jamaat office bearer, institution or public figure;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or incites the commission of any offence, or prevents the investigation of any offence, or insults any other nation;
  • contains viruses, malware or other code designed to interrupt, damage or limit any computer resource;
  • is synthetically generated in a way prohibited by clause 10; or
  • otherwise violates any law in force.
9.3

Prohibited behaviour. You must not:

  • create a false identity, misrepresent your Jamaat, gender, qualifications or employment, or create more than one personal Account;
  • use another person's Account, or sell, rent or transfer your Account;
  • harass, stalk, threaten, bully, intimidate or repeatedly contact anyone who has not responded or who has declined contact;
  • send unsolicited romantic or marriage proposals, or sexual content of any kind;
  • attempt to circumvent message requests, same-gender discovery, blocking or any other etiquette or safety feature, including by contacting a Member through other channels using information obtained from the Services after they have declined contact;
  • ask any Member for money, loans, donations, investments or payment of any kind, except through features we expressly provide for that purpose;
  • promote pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, get-rich-quick schemes, or unregistered investment or financial products;
  • raise funds, collect donations or run campaigns, including for religious or charitable causes, without our prior written approval;
  • misrepresent religious rulings, or present personal views as the verdict of a scholar or marja' without basis;
  • send spam, chain messages, bulk messages, or unsolicited commercial or promotional communications;
  • use the Services for political campaigning or electioneering, including in Jamaat elections, except through features we expressly provide;
  • collect, copy, export or compile Members' information, including building lists, databases or directories, for any purpose other than genuine personal networking on the Services;
  • use any bot, crawler, scraper, script, browser extension or other automated means to access the Services, collect data, send messages or perform actions;
  • access, extract or copy any part of the Services or its data to train, fine-tune, test or improve any machine learning or AI model;
  • use the Services on behalf of a recruitment agency, data broker, marketer or other third party without our written permission;
  • disclose confidential information of your employer or anyone else that you are not entitled to disclose;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Services, or bypass any access control or rate limit, except under a responsible disclosure arrangement we have agreed in writing;
  • interfere with the Services or impose an unreasonable load on our systems;
  • frame, mirror or copy the look and feel of the Services, or create links that suggest we endorse you;
  • report other Members falsely or in bad faith, or misuse our reporting and grievance processes; or
  • help or encourage anyone else to do any of the above.
9.4

Responsible disclosure. If you find a security vulnerability, please report it privately to admin@ksijyouth.com and give us a reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else. We will not take action against good-faith security research that follows this approach, avoids accessing other Members' data, and causes no harm.

10. AI-generated and synthetic content

10.1

Label what is synthetic. If you share images, audio or video that have been created or materially altered using AI or other tools in a way that could make them appear real, you must clearly label them as synthetic, and you must not remove or obscure any label or provenance information we or the creating tool have applied.

10.2

Prohibited synthetic content. You must never create or share synthetic content that depicts a real person without their consent in a way that could mislead others, that sexualises any person, that depicts or involves a child in any harmful way, that creates false documents or records (including false certificates, qualifications or references), or that is otherwise unlawful.

10.3

Text produced with AI assistance. You may use AI tools to help you write your profile, posts or applications, but you remain fully responsible for their accuracy. You must not present AI-generated claims about your experience, qualifications or achievements that are not true.

10.4

Our AI Features. Where the Services themselves generate content for you, such as CV review suggestions, we will make clear that it is AI-generated. That content may be wrong and must be checked by you before you rely on it or share it.

11. Mentorship Circle

11.1

A voluntary community service. Mentors offer their time voluntarily. Mentors are not our employees, agents or representatives, and we do not select, train, supervise or guarantee them.

11.2

Not professional advice. Guidance given through the Mentorship Circle is personal, informal guidance. It is not legal, financial, tax, investment, medical, psychological, immigration or other professional advice, even where the Mentor is qualified in that field, and no professional or fiduciary relationship is created. Where you need professional advice, you should engage a qualified professional on proper terms.

11.3

No fees. Mentors must not charge Mentees for mentorship arranged through the Services, and must not use the Mentorship Circle to sell their professional services.

11.4

Conduct. Mentorship sessions must follow the Community Guidelines, including the etiquette on communication between men and women. Mentors must not ask Mentees for personal information beyond what is needed for the guidance requested.

11.5

Meetings. We recommend that mentorship takes place online or in a public or Jamaat setting. Any meeting in person is arranged by the Members themselves, at their own discretion and risk.

11.6

Availability. A Mentor may change their availability, reschedule or decline at any time. We do not guarantee that any request will be accepted or that any session will take place.

12. Endorsements, appreciations and recommendations

12.1

Be genuine. Endorsements and appreciations must reflect your honest, first-hand knowledge. You must not give or request endorsements in exchange for payment, favours or reciprocal endorsements, and you must not endorse skills you have no basis to judge.

12.2

Your name is shown. When you give an endorsement, your name and profile will be shown with it to Members who can see the endorsed profile. By giving an endorsement you agree to that display. You may withdraw an endorsement at any time.

12.3

Recommendations. We may suggest Members, mentors, opportunities or content to you based on information in the Services, such as your profession, city, Jamaat and activity. The Privacy Policy explains how this works and how to limit it. Suggestions are not endorsements by us.

13. Opportunities, the feed and community content

13.1

Opportunities. Members may post jobs, projects, collaborations and other opportunities. We do not check, approve or guarantee any opportunity. You must satisfy yourself that an opportunity is genuine and suitable before acting on it.

13.2

Posting opportunities. If you post an opportunity, you confirm that it is genuine and currently available, that you are authorised to post it, that it describes the role and its terms honestly, and that you will not charge any fee to anyone who responds.

13.3

The feed. The community feed shows posts from Members. We do not use an engagement-maximising algorithm or show sponsored content in the feed. We may order, group or limit posts for relevance, safety and quality, as described in the Privacy Policy.

13.4

Views are the author's own. Content posted by Members represents the views of the Member who posted it. It does not represent the views of the Trust, any Jamaat or the World Federation.

14. Money, fraud and safety

14.1

Never pay to get a job or a favour. Using the Services is free for Members. No genuine Member, Employer, Mentor or representative of ours will ask you to pay for a job, an interview, a mentorship session, a verification, a visa or a reference. Treat any such request as a likely fraud and report it.

14.2

We will never ask for sensitive details. We will never ask you, by message, email, phone or WhatsApp, for your one-time codes, sign-in details, bank details, card numbers or government identity numbers.

14.3

Be careful offline. Anything you arrange with another Member outside the Services, including meetings, business dealings, employment and financial transactions, is between you and that Member. Verify identities independently, meet in public or Jamaat settings, and involve a trusted person where appropriate.

14.4

Emergencies. The Services are not an emergency service and are not monitored in real time. If you or someone else is in danger, contact the police or emergency services in your country immediately.

14.5

Reporting. Please report fraud, threats, harassment or anything that concerns you using the report tools in the Services or by writing to asad.sayed@ksijyouth.com. Where there is a risk of serious harm, we may share information with the police or other authorities as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Third-party services

15.1

Some features rely on services provided by other organisations, such as Google (for sign-in) and, when available, One ID. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

15.2

The Services may contain links to other websites, including Employer websites. We do not control and are not responsible for those websites, and a link is not an endorsement.

16. Our intellectual property

16.1

The Services belong to us or our licensors. The Services, including their software, design, text, graphics and the arrangement of Member information, are owned by or licensed to the Trust and are protected by intellectual property laws.

16.2

Names and marks. The names and marks "KSIJ", "KSIJ Connect" and "KSIJ Careers", and associated logos, are used by the Trust under licence from Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat, Mumbai. The World Federation name and the One ID name and logo belong to the World Federation. You may not use any of these names, marks or logos without written permission.

16.3

Your permission to use the Services. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access and use the Services for their intended purpose, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Services, except as these Terms allow.

17. Reporting, moderation and grievance redressal

17.1

Grievance Officer. In line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as amended, we have appointed a Grievance Officer who is resident in India:

  • Name: Asad Sayed
  • Designation: Grievance Officer
  • Email: asad.sayed@ksijyouth.com
  • Address: 124, 42, Manju Tower CHS Ltd, J.P. Road, Nr. High Point Hotel, Andheri-W, Mumbai - 400 058
  • Working hours: 10:30–19:30 IST, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Maharashtra
17.2

How to complain. You, or anyone affected by Content on the Services, may complain to the Grievance Officer about any breach of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, the Privacy Policy or the law, or about any decision we have made about your Account or Content. Please include enough detail for us to identify the Content or conduct, such as links, screenshots and the Member's name.

17.3

Our timelines. We will acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 7 days. We will act faster where the law requires, including:

  • removing Content that shows a person in a sexual act or conduct, depicts nudity, or is an impersonation in electronic form, including morphed or synthetic images, as quickly as possible and within the period required by law, which is currently 2 hours for complaints made by or on behalf of the person depicted;
  • resolving complaints asking us to remove Content in the prohibited categories listed in clause 9.2 within the period required by law, which is currently 36 hours for most of those categories;
  • acting on court orders and lawful government directions within the period required by law, which is currently 3 hours for certain orders.

Where the law changes these periods, the new periods apply.

17.4

What we may do. Depending on how serious a breach is, how often it has happened and the harm it causes, we may take one or more of these actions: give a warning; remove or restrict Content; limit features such as messaging or posting; temporarily suspend an Account; permanently close an Account; and report the matter to law enforcement where required or where there is a risk of serious harm.

17.5

Notice and reasons. Where we remove your Content or restrict your Account, we will tell you and give you our reasons, unless doing so would breach the law, compromise an investigation, or put anyone at risk.

17.6

Asking us to reconsider. You may ask us to reconsider any decision within 30 days by writing to the Grievance Officer. Someone who was not involved in the original decision will review it.

17.7

Grievance Appellate Committee. If you are not satisfied with the Grievance Officer's decision, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee established by the Government of India within 30 days of receiving the decision, as provided under the Information Technology Rules.

17.8

Intellectual property complaints. If you believe Content infringes your copyright or trademark, write to asad.sayed@ksijyouth.com with: your contact details; a description of the work or mark; the location of the Content; a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised; and a statement that your complaint is accurate and that you own or are authorised to act for the owner of the rights. We may share your complaint with the Member concerned, who may respond.

17.9

Preservation. Where we remove Content or close an Account, we may keep the relevant information and associated records for at least 180 days, or longer if required by law or a lawful request, for investigation purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy.

17.10

Users outside India. Part C sets out additional terms for users in certain countries outside India.

17.11

Annual reminder. We will remind Members at least once a year that breaching these Terms may lead to removal of Content or closure of their Account.

18. Suspension and termination

18.1

You may leave at any time. You may close your Account at any time through your settings or by writing to admin@ksijyouth.com. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you do.

18.2

When we may suspend or close your Account. We may suspend or close your Account, or restrict your access, if:

  • you breach these Terms, the Community Guidelines or the law, and the breach is serious or repeated;
  • you no longer meet the eligibility requirements;
  • we are required to do so by law, a court or a government authority;
  • your Account shows signs of compromise, fraud or automated use;
  • your Account has been inactive for 3 years, after we have given you at least 48 hours' notice, as described in the Privacy Policy; or
  • we stop providing the Services, or the Services in your region, under clause 19.
18.3

Immediate action. For serious breaches, such as threats of violence, sexual harassment, content that harms children, fraud, or impersonation, we may act immediately and without prior warning.

18.4

Returning. If we permanently close your Account for a breach, you may not create a new Account without our written permission.

18.5

What survives. Clauses 8.4, 8.7, 14, 16, 21 to 26, and any other clause that by its nature is meant to continue, remain in effect after your Account closes.

19. Changes to the Services

19.1

The Services are evolving. We may add, change, limit or remove features, and may extend or limit the Services to particular countries or regions. Where a change significantly reduces the Services you use, we will try to give you reasonable notice.

19.2

The Services are currently free for Members. If we introduce paid features in future, we will tell you in advance, explain the price and terms, and you will not be charged unless you choose to buy. Core community features will not be moved behind a paywall for existing Members without reasonable notice.

19.3

If we decide to stop providing the Services altogether, we will give Members at least 60 days' notice where possible, and the opportunity to download their data, and we will deal with Member data as described in the Privacy Policy.

20. Changes to these Terms

20.1

We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in the Services. For material changes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice through the Services or by email before they take effect, unless a shorter period is needed to comply with the law or to address a security or safety risk.

20.2

If you continue using the Services after an update takes effect, the updated Terms will apply to you. If you do not agree, you may close your Account before the update takes effect.

20.3

Where an update changes how we use your personal data in a way that requires your consent, we will ask for your consent separately and will not rely on your continued use alone.

21. Disclaimers

21.1

We work hard to provide reliable, safe Services. However, to the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, or that Content on the Services is accurate, complete or reliable.

21.2

Without limiting clause 21.1, we are not responsible for:

  • the accuracy of any Member's profile, qualifications, experience, endorsements or claims;
  • the conduct, advice, offers or opportunities of any Member, Mentor or Employer, whether on or off the Services;
  • any employment, business, financial or personal outcome of connections made through the Services; or
  • output from AI Features, which may be inaccurate and must be checked before you rely on it.
21.3

Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded, including rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

22. Limitation of liability

22.1

What we are not liable for. To the extent permitted by law, the Trust, its trustees, officers, employees and volunteers will not be liable to you for any: (a) indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss; (b) loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings; or (c) loss or corruption of data where you could reasonably have kept a copy; in each case arising out of or relating to the Services, even if we were told the loss was possible.

22.2

Our overall limit. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms is limited to the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim arose; and (b) INR 10,000.

22.3

What we do not limit. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; our wilful misconduct or gross negligence; our obligations under data protection law to the extent those obligations cannot be limited by contract; or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

23. Your responsibility to us (indemnity)

23.1

You agree to compensate the Trust, its trustees, officers, employees and volunteers for any reasonable losses, damages, penalties, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from a third-party claim or regulatory action caused by: (a) your breach of these Terms or the Community Guidelines; (b) Content you provided; or (c) your breach of any law or of anyone's rights.

23.2

We will tell you promptly about any such claim, allow you to participate in its defence at your own cost, and not settle it in a way that admits fault on your behalf without your agreement. This clause does not apply to the extent a loss was caused by our own breach or negligence.

24. Our relationship with the World Federation, the Developer and Jamaats

24.1

The World Federation. The Services are owned and operated by the Trust. The World Federation supports the Services as a facilitator and endorser: it helps introduce the Services to Jamaats worldwide and assists with listing the apps on app stores. It does not own, operate or control the Services, does not receive or have access to Members' personal data through them, no funds pass between it and the Trust in connection with the Services, and it is not a party to these Terms. Where an app store shows the World Federation as the publisher of an app, the Trust remains the provider of the Services and is responsible to you for them. Any claim relating to the Services must be brought against the Trust, not the World Federation.

24.2

Jamaats. Jamaats may, where we agree, help introduce the Services to their members. Jamaats are not our agents, and we are not theirs. Jamaats do not receive your personal data from us.

24.3

No endorsement of Members. Neither the Trust, any Jamaat nor the World Federation endorses any Member, Mentor, Employer, opportunity or piece of Content.

24.4

The Developer. The Developer builds and maintains the Services on the Trust's instructions, as the Trust's data processor. It is not a party to these Terms and has no right to use your Content or personal data for its own purposes. Any claim relating to the Services must be brought against the Trust.

25. Governing law and resolving disputes

25.1

Talk to us first. If you have a dispute with us, please first write to the Grievance Officer. Most concerns can be resolved quickly this way. If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either of us may take the next step under this clause. For complaints about personal data, you must first use our grievance process before approaching the Data Protection Board of India, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

25.2

Governing law. These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to them or the Services, are governed by the laws of India.

25.3

Arbitration. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, including any question about their existence, validity or termination, that is not resolved under clause 25.1 will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration under its rules in force at the time. The tribunal will consist of a sole arbitrator appointed in accordance with those rules. The seat and venue of the arbitration will be Mumbai, and the language will be English. Hearings may take place online. The arbitration will be governed by the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

25.4

What arbitration does not cover. Nothing in clause 25.3 prevents: (a) either party from seeking urgent interim relief from a court; (b) you from bringing a claim before a consumer commission or small claims forum where the law allows you to do so; (c) you from complaining to the Data Protection Board of India, the Grievance Appellate Committee, or a data protection supervisory authority in your country; or (d) you from relying on any mandatory protection of the law of your country of residence, or from bringing proceedings in the courts of that country where its law gives you that right.

25.5

Courts. Subject to clauses 25.3 and 25.4, the courts at Mumbai, India have exclusive jurisdiction.

26. General

26.1

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the documents listed in clause 1.3, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services and replace any earlier understanding.

26.2

Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest will continue in full effect.

26.3

No waiver. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up.

26.4

Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may transfer our rights and obligations only to: (a) a successor entity that takes over the Services and agrees to be bound by these Terms and the Privacy Policy; or (b) another non-profit body with similar charitable objects, including Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat, Mumbai, or an entity nominated by it. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any such transfer, and you may close your Account before it takes effect.

26.5

Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, failure of public networks or cloud infrastructure, or cyber attacks that we could not reasonably have prevented. We will take reasonable steps to limit the effect and resume the Services.

26.6

Notices. We may send notices to you through the Services, by email to the address on your Account, or by any other contact method you have given us. You may send notices to us at admin@ksijyouth.com or by post to our registered address. A notice by email is treated as received when sent, unless we receive an error message.

26.7

Accessibility. We aim to make the Services accessible to everyone, including persons with disabilities. If you have difficulty using any part of the Services, contact admin@ksijyouth.com and we will help.

26.8

Interpretation. Headings and summaries are for convenience only. The words "including" and "for example" do not limit the words that come before them.

Part B: KSIJ Careers Supplemental Terms

The short version. KSIJ Careers connects Members with genuine opportunities. We are a platform, not a recruitment agency or employer, and we never decide who is hired. Job seekers never pay anything. Employers must post only real jobs, follow employment and data protection law, and use candidate data only for the job the candidate applied to. Our AI tools help; they do not decide.

B1. Scope

B1.1

This Part B applies, in addition to Part A, to everyone who uses KSIJ Careers or the careers features within KSIJ Connect, including the Opportunities board, applying with your CV and CV review, and to job seekers, Employers and anyone acting on an Employer's behalf.

B1.2

If you use KSIJ Careers on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" includes that organisation.

B2. Our role

B2.1

A platform, not an agency. KSIJ Careers is a platform that helps Members find opportunities and helps Employers find candidates. We are not an employer, a recruitment or placement agency, a labour contractor or anyone's agent. We do not procure employment for job seekers or employees for Employers.

B2.2

No guarantees. We do not guarantee that any job seeker will receive a response, interview or offer, or that any Employer will find a suitable candidate.

B2.3

Hiring decisions are the Employer's. Employers alone decide which qualifications matter, whom to shortlist, interview or hire, and on what terms. We are not a party to any employment or engagement between a job seeker and an Employer.

B2.4

Verification of Employers. We may carry out basic checks on Employers, but we do not guarantee that any Employer, job or offer is genuine. Job seekers must verify Employers and offers independently before sharing sensitive information, travelling or making any commitment.

B3. Job seekers

B3.1

Always free. Job seekers are never charged for searching, applying, or using KSIJ Careers.

B3.2

Accurate applications. Your CV, profile and application answers must be truthful and must describe your own qualifications and experience. You must not submit documents that are forged, altered or generated to mislead.

B3.3

When you apply. When you apply for a job, you are asking us to send your application, which includes your CV, the profile information shown on the application screen and any documents you attach, to the Employer that posted the job. We will show you exactly what will be shared before you submit.

B3.4

After the Employer receives your application. Once an Employer receives your application, the Employer is responsible for how it uses and keeps your information, under its own privacy policy and applicable law. Requests to correct or delete information held by an Employer should be sent to that Employer; we will help you contact them.

B3.7

Beware of fraud. A genuine Employer will never ask you to pay for an application, interview, training, equipment, visa or offer letter. Report any such request immediately.

B3.8

Your saved CV. You may keep one CV on your profile and reuse it when you apply. Your CV is never shown in the directory or on your profile, and is shared only with the Employer or Member who posted an opportunity you apply to. Each application sends a copy of your CV as it was when you applied, so later changes to your profile CV do not change what was already sent.

B3.9

CV review. CV review gives you private suggestions on your own CV, such as structure, clarity and missing sections. It is advice to you only: it does not score or rank you against any job or any other person, and its output is never shown to Employers or other Members.

B4. Employers

B4.2

Genuine jobs only. Each job you post must be a real, current vacancy that you are authorised to fill. You must describe the role, location, working arrangements and, where you choose to show it, pay, honestly. You must not post jobs to collect CVs for other purposes, to advertise a business opportunity, to recruit for multi-level marketing, or to build a database.

B4.3

No fees from candidates. You must not charge, or allow anyone to charge, any fee, deposit or payment to any person who applies for or is offered a job through KSIJ Careers.

B4.4

Lawful and fair recruitment. You are solely responsible for complying with all laws that apply to your recruitment, including employment, equal opportunity, anti-discrimination, immigration, wage and data protection laws in every country where you recruit or where your candidates live.

B4.5

A community platform does not permit unlawful discrimination. KSIJ Careers is available only to Members of our community. That membership rule governs who may use the platform; it does not authorise you to make any hiring decision, or to limit any job, in a way that would be unlawful where you operate. If the law that applies to you requires you to advertise a role more widely, or prohibits selection on grounds such as religion, you must comply with that law. Posting on KSIJ Careers does not replace any obligation you have to recruit lawfully.

B4.7

Using candidate data. Personal data you receive through KSIJ Careers, including CVs and applications, may be used only to consider the candidate for the specific role they applied for, or for roles they have agreed to be considered for. You must not:

  • sell, share, publish or transfer candidate data to anyone other than people within your organisation, or your service providers, who need it for the recruitment;
  • add candidates to marketing lists or contact them for anything other than recruitment;
  • forward any candidate's CV or application to the candidate's current employer;
  • copy or export candidate data in bulk, or combine it into a separate database; or
  • keep candidate data for longer than is necessary for the recruitment and permitted by law.
B4.8

Your data protection responsibilities. When you receive a candidate's data, you become responsible for it as an independent data controller or data fiduciary under the law that applies to you. You must: have a lawful basis and give any notice required by law; keep the data secure using appropriate technical and organisational measures; limit access to authorised people bound by confidentiality; respond to candidates' requests to exercise their rights; delete the data when it is no longer needed; and tell us within 24 hours of becoming aware of any breach affecting data received through KSIJ Careers.

B4.9

Contacting candidates. You may contact a candidate only about the recruitment they applied for or agreed to. You must follow the Community Guidelines, including the etiquette on communication between men and women, and all laws on commercial communications, including telemarketing and do-not-call rules.

B4.10

AI and automated tools you use. If you use your own AI or automated tools to review candidates received through KSIJ Careers, you are responsible for ensuring those tools are lawful, fair and subject to meaningful human review, and for meeting any obligations that apply to you as a user of such tools.

B4.11

Recruitment agencies. Recruitment agencies and staffing firms may use KSIJ Careers only with our prior written approval and on any additional terms we agree.

B4.12

Employer fees. Posting jobs is currently free. If we introduce fees for Employers, they will apply only under a separate written order or agreement that you accept.

B4.13

Indemnity by Employers. In addition to clause 23 of Part A, Employers agree to compensate the Trust for any claim, penalty or loss arising from their job posts, recruitment decisions or use of candidate data, or from their breach of this Part B or of employment or data protection law.

B4.14

Suspension of Employers. We may remove job posts, suspend or close Employer access, and report Employers to authorities, where we reasonably believe an Employer has posted a fraudulent or misleading job, charged candidates, misused candidate data, or otherwise breached these Terms.

B5. AI Features in KSIJ Careers

B5.1

What they do. KSIJ Careers may use AI Features to review your CV and suggest improvements to it. We will tell you when you are using an AI Feature.

B5.2

They assist; they do not decide. AI Features do not make hiring decisions and do not reject candidates. We do not make any decision about you based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects for you.

B5.3

They can be wrong. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Check any suggestion before you change your CV, and treat it as general information, not professional advice.

B5.4

Your choices. CV review is optional and runs only when you ask for it. You can ask for a human explanation of any suggestion that affects you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

B5.5

No model training by others. Where we use third-party AI providers, we require them not to use your data to train their models.

B5.6

Do not share sensitive information with AI Features. Please do not include health, financial or government identity information in a CV you send for review.

Part C: Additional Terms for Your Region

The short version. Our community lives in many countries. Where the law of your country gives you extra rights or requires extra rules, this Part sets them out. If anything here conflicts with Parts A or B, this Part applies to you.

C1. How this Part works

C1.1

Each section below applies only to users who live in, or use the Services from, the country or region named.

C1.2

Nothing in these Terms takes away any right you have under the mandatory law of the country where you live. Where these Terms and that law conflict, that law applies.

C1.3

Local law may be stricter. Some countries have laws on speech, religion, defamation, public morals, rumours or online conduct that are stricter than the Community Guidelines, for example cybercrime laws in the United Arab Emirates, and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 in Pakistan. You are responsible for following the law where you are.

C6. Australia and New Zealand

C6.1

Australian Consumer Law. Our Services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any such guarantee, right or remedy. Where our liability for failure to comply with a guarantee can lawfully be limited, it is limited to supplying the Services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

C6.2

eSafety. If you are in Australia and we do not act on a complaint about serious cyber-abuse, cyberbullying of a child, or image-based abuse, you may report it to the eSafety Commissioner at esafety.gov.au.

C6.3

New Zealand. If you are in New Zealand, nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be limited. If you use the Services for the purposes of a business, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply.

C8. United Arab Emirates

C8.1

You must comply with the laws of your country on online content and conduct, which may prohibit content that other countries permit, including content considered offensive to religion, public morals or public order, defamatory statements, and the spreading of rumours.

C8.2

Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the personal data protection law of your country, as described in Annex B of the Privacy Policy.

C9. Pakistan

C9.1

You must comply with the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, as amended, and any other law applicable to online content and conduct in Pakistan.

C10. All other countries

C10.1

If you live in a country not listed above, you keep every right you have under the mandatory law of that country, and clause C1.3 applies.

Schedule 1: Community Guidelines

The Community Guidelines below form part of these Terms. They are also published as a separate document at ksijconnect.com/community-guidelines. If the two versions ever differ, the version published at that address on the relevant date applies.

In short. Treat every Member the way you would treat a respected elder in your own Jamaat. Be honest about who you are. Keep conversations between men and women professional and purposeful. Never ask anyone for money. Protect other people's privacy. If something is wrong, report it; don't retaliate. Some things, such as anything that harms a child, threats of violence, or sharing intimate images, lead to immediate removal and may be reported to the police.

1. Our values

These Guidelines are built on values our community already lives by:

  • Adab (etiquette). Courtesy in speech, patience in disagreement, and respect for elders, scholars and one another.
  • Amanah (trust). What people share with you, including their details, their time and their confidences, is a trust.
  • Ukhuwwah (brotherhood and sisterhood). We are here to help each other succeed, not to compete for attention.
  • Khidmat (service). Mentors, employers and members give their time freely. Honour that generosity.
  • Haya (modesty and dignity). In how we present ourselves and how we speak to each other.

A simple test for anything you post or send: if it would be inappropriate in front of your family or at your Jamaat, it does not belong here.

2. Who these Guidelines apply to

These Guidelines apply to every Member, Mentor, Employer and job seeker, and to everything on KSIJ Connect and KSIJ Careers: profiles, photographs, posts, comments, messages, requests, endorsements, opportunities, job posts and applications. They also apply to conduct off the platform where it involves Members and is connected to the Services, for example continuing to contact someone elsewhere after they have declined you here.

3. Be yourself, honestly

  • Use your real name and your own photograph.
  • Describe your work, qualifications and experience accurately. Do not claim degrees, titles, employers, certifications or religious authority you do not hold.
  • Keep your profile up to date.
  • If you use AI tools to help write your profile or posts, you are responsible for making sure every claim is true.
  • One person, one account. Do not create accounts for others or share yours.

4. Introductions and conduct between men and women

Our etiquette features exist to make professional connection comfortable for everyone. Please follow them in spirit, not just in letter.

  • Begin with one short, respectful introduction that clearly states a professional or community reason for contact.
  • If your request is not accepted, that is the answer. Do not send another request, do not message a relative or friend of theirs, and do not contact them on another platform.
  • Keep conversations professional and to the purpose you stated.
  • Do not comment on anyone's appearance, ask for photographs, ask personal questions unrelated to your purpose, or suggest meeting privately.
  • Do not ask for personal phone numbers or social media handles unless the conversation genuinely requires it and the other person is comfortable.
  • KSIJ Connect is not a matrimonial or matchmaking service. Unsolicited marriage proposals and romantic approaches are not permitted.
  • If you choose same-gender discovery, other Members must respect that choice.

5. Photographs, images and presentation

  • Profile photographs should be of you alone, clear and recognisable, and in keeping with the community's standards of modest dress and presentation.
  • Do not post photographs of other people without their permission.
  • Never post photographs or videos of children unless you are their parent or guardian, and even then think carefully about who can see them. Never post any image of someone else's child without their parent's permission.
  • No sexual, suggestive or revealing images of anyone.

6. Faith, scholarship and respectful discussion

Our community holds a rich range of views and follows different maraji'. Discussion is welcome. Division is not.

  • Discuss religious matters with knowledge, humility and courtesy.
  • Do not insult, mock or disparage any religion, sect, school of thought, marja', scholar or religious practice.
  • Do not declare any Muslim to be outside the faith, and do not call for anyone to be excluded from the community.
  • Do not present your own opinion as a religious ruling. For questions of fiqh, refer people to qualified scholars or the office of their marja'.
  • Do not share fabricated or unverified narrations or rulings as if they were authentic.
  • Treat followers of other faiths with the same respect you expect for yours.

7. Harassment, bullying and threats

Never threaten, intimidate, bully, stalk, shame, humiliate or repeatedly contact anyone. This includes:

  • threats of violence or harm, even as a "joke";
  • encouraging others to target someone;
  • repeatedly messaging or requesting someone who has not replied;
  • publicly shaming someone, their family or their Jamaat;
  • sharing someone's personal information to expose or intimidate them;
  • sexual harassment of any kind.

8. Hate and discrimination

Do not attack, demean or exclude anyone because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, caste, colour, gender, disability, age, health, or the sect or school of thought they follow. Do not use slurs or stereotypes. Criticism of ideas is allowed; attacks on people are not.

9. Violence, terrorism and violent extremism

Zero tolerance. Do not post, share, praise, support or recruit for terrorism, violent extremism, or organisations or individuals engaged in them. Do not incite, threaten or glorify violence against anyone. We remove this content immediately, close the accounts involved, and report to law enforcement where required or where there is a risk to life.

10. Protecting children

Zero tolerance. Any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, grooms or endangers a child is prohibited. We remove it immediately, permanently close the accounts involved, preserve the evidence, and report it to the relevant authorities. The Services are for adults only; do not use them to contact children. See our Child Safety Standards.

11. Sexual content and exploitation

  • No sexual content, nudity or sexually suggestive material of any kind.
  • Zero tolerance for sharing, or threatening to share, intimate images of anyone without their consent, including images that have been faked or altered with AI, and for sextortion. We act on these reports within hours, report to authorities, and permanently close accounts.

12. Self-harm and wellbeing

  • Do not post content that encourages, promotes or instructs self-harm or suicide.
  • If you are struggling, you are not alone. You can reach trained counsellors confidentially through Safe Haven at haven.ksijyouth.com, our community's confidential counselling service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number straight away (for example 112 in India and the European Union, 999 in the United Kingdom, 911 in the United States and Canada).
  • If you see a Member who seems to be at risk, report it. We will reach out with support resources, and where there is an immediate risk to life we may contact emergency services.

13. Money, fraud and scams

  • Never ask any Member for money, loans, investments, donations, gifts or payment of any kind in messages, requests or posts.
  • Never charge anyone for a job, an interview, a reference, a mentorship session or an introduction.
  • No pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, crypto or forex "opportunities", guaranteed-return investments or get-rich-quick offers.
  • No phishing, fake job offers, fake invoices or requests for sign-in details, codes or bank details.
  • Fundraising, including for religious, charitable or medical causes, is allowed only through channels we have approved in writing or through your Jamaat.

14. Business, commercial activity and spam

  • You may describe your business or profession on your profile, and post genuine opportunities in the Opportunities section.
  • You may not send unsolicited sales messages, promotions or newsletters to Members, add Members to mailing lists, or repeatedly post the same content.
  • You may not use the directory to build lists of Members for marketing, recruitment agencies, or any other third party.

15. Other people's privacy

  • Do not share anyone's phone number, address, workplace, documents, messages or photographs without their permission.
  • Do not screenshot or forward private conversations.
  • Do not share news of another person's illness, hospitalisation, family matters or death unless their family has made it public or asked you to share it.
  • Do not record calls or mentorship sessions without everyone's clear agreement.

16. False information and forged announcements

  • Do not knowingly share false or misleading information, especially about health, safety, individuals or the community.
  • Do not create or share fake announcements, notices, circulars or statements that appear to come from any Jamaat, the World Federation, a scholar, an institution or KSIJ Connect.
  • Do not spread rumours about individuals, families or Jamaats.

17. Impersonation and use of names and logos

Do not pretend to be another person, an office bearer, a scholar or an organisation. Do not use the name or logo of any Jamaat, the World Federation or KSIJ Connect in a way that suggests their endorsement without written permission.

18. Jamaat affairs and public issues

  • Civil, constructive discussion of community matters is welcome.
  • Do not campaign for any election, including Jamaat elections, through messages or requests.
  • Do not make defamatory allegations against office bearers, trustees, volunteers or anyone else. If you have a grievance about a Jamaat, raise it through that Jamaat's own processes.
  • Keep political discussion respectful, and follow the law of your country.

19. Illegal, regulated and harmful goods and activities

Do not use the Services to buy, sell, promote or facilitate illegal drugs, alcohol, weapons, gambling, counterfeit goods, stolen property, forged documents, visas or work permits obtained improperly, or any other illegal or harmful activity.

20. Intellectual property

Share only content you created or have permission to share. Credit others' work. Do not post pirated material, copied articles in full, or others' designs and photographs without permission.

21. AI and synthetic media

  • Label images, audio and video that are AI-generated or altered to look real.
  • Never create or share synthetic content that depicts a real person without their consent in a misleading way, that is sexual, that involves a child, or that forges documents, certificates or references.
  • Do not use AI to generate fake endorsements, reviews or engagement.

22. Mentors and mentees

  • Mentors: give honest, balanced guidance within your experience; make clear it is personal guidance, not professional advice; never charge; never use mentorship to sell services or recruit; keep sessions professional and follow section 4; respect confidentiality.
  • Mentees: respect your mentor's time; attend what you book or cancel early; do not pressure mentors for jobs, referrals or favours; keep what you learn in confidence where asked.
  • Hold sessions online, or in a public or Jamaat setting.

23. KSIJ Careers

  • Employers: post only genuine, current vacancies; describe roles honestly; never charge candidates; use candidate information only for the role; follow employment and anti-discrimination law where you recruit; reply to candidates respectfully, including to decline.
  • Job seekers: apply honestly; do not submit forged or AI-fabricated credentials; respond to employers courteously; withdraw applications you are no longer pursuing.

24. Using the Services fairly

No bots, scrapers, scripts or automation. No fake accounts, fake endorsements or coordinated activity to boost or bury content. No attempts to get around blocks, same-gender discovery, message requests, suspensions or bans. No probing or attacking our systems; report security issues to admin@ksijyouth.com instead.

25. Reporting

  • Use the report option on any profile, post, comment, message or job, or write to our Grievance Officer at asad.sayed@ksijyouth.com.
  • Reports are confidential. We do not tell the reported Member who reported them.
  • You can block any Member at any time.
  • We review every report. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and act faster for the most serious harms.
  • Please report in good faith. Deliberately false or abusive reports are themselves a breach of these Guidelines.
  • If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.

26. How we enforce these Guidelines

We look at how serious the behaviour is, whether it has happened before, the harm it caused or could cause, and the context, including whether content has genuine public, educational or community value. We aim to be fair, consistent and proportionate, and we respect freedom of expression within the law.

  • You can ask us to reconsider any decision within 30 days. Someone who was not involved will review it. Further appeal routes, including the Grievance Appellate Committee in India, are set out in the Terms of Use.
  • If an account is permanently closed, the person may not create a new account without our written permission.

27. Changes to these Guidelines

We will update these Guidelines as the community and the law evolve. We will tell Members about significant changes in advance, and the date at the top shows the current version. Suggestions are welcome at admin@ksijyouth.com.

Schedule 2: Staying safe

  • Verify before you trust. Having an Account does not mean anyone has checked a Member's identity, qualifications, employment or character. Use your own judgement.
  • Never pay anyone to get a job, an interview, a reference, a mentorship session or a visa.
  • Never share one-time codes, sign-in details, bank details or identity numbers in messages.
  • Be wary of urgency, secrecy or offers that seem too good to be true.
  • Meet in public or Jamaat settings, tell a trusted person where you are going, and involve family where appropriate.
  • Check that an Employer exists and that the person contacting you really works there, using contact details you find independently.
  • Report anything that concerns you. Reports are confidential.
  • In an emergency, contact the police or emergency services first.
