Child Safety Standards
Effective 5th October 2026
KSIJ Connect is a professional and community network for adult members of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri community, owned and operated by Bibi Khadijah Al Kubra Foundation, a nonprofit trust registered in India. It is for people aged 18 and over only: children may not hold an account, and the Services must never be used to contact a child.
What is prohibited
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). On KSIJ Connect, in any profile, post, comment, message, opportunity or group, it is prohibited to:
- create, upload, share, request or link to child sexual abuse material of any kind;
- share sexualised content of minors, including images, video, audio or text that sexualises a child, and including content that is AI-generated, synthetic or altered;
- groom a child — befriend, contact or manipulate a minor, or someone you believe to be a minor, for sexual purposes;
- commit sextortion — threaten to share, or demand, intimate images of a child, or use such images to coerce anyone;
- traffic, solicit or advertise children for sexual purposes, or help anyone else do any of the above.
This is set out in our Community Guidelines (section 10, Protecting children) and Terms of Use, which every member agrees to.
How to report
- In the app: choose Report on any profile, post, comment, message, opportunity or group, and pick Child safety concern — it is the first reason listed. Content reported this way is hidden from members straight away, before anyone has reviewed it.
- By email, member or not: write to asad.sayed@ksijyouth.com with a link to, or description of, what you saw.
Child safety reports are reviewed with top priority: every report goes to the top of our moderation queue and our administrators are alerted the moment it is made. Reports are confidential — we do not tell the reported member who reported them. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police or your local emergency number first.
What we do
- Remove the content.
- Permanently close the accounts involved; a closed account may not return.
- Preserve the evidence — the content and the records needed by investigators — for as long as the law requires.
- Report it to the relevant authorities. In India, to the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and the police, as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) requires; elsewhere, to the competent authority in the country concerned.
